Custom nautical wedding invitation

It may surprise you to know that, while I'm a calligrapher based in Charlottesville, I don't always work with Charlottesville brides who are having a Charlottesville wedding. Some brides, I never even meet! One case in point: a friend of another bride who I helped with wedding invitation envelope calligraphy recently partnered with me to create her whole wedding invitation suite in calligraphy. We have worked exclusively via email and phone and, while I hate that I will probably never meet her face-to-face, it's a testament to what can be done electronically these days!
This bride's custom designed calligraphy wedding invitations arrived recently. She chose a nautical theme with navy ink and a knot that tied the suite together. I LOVE how they turned out!

New calligraphy script!

Recently, I had a bride request an elegant script to match her classic, somewhat ornate calligraphy on her wedding invitations. The result is below and I LOVE IT. It's going to be part of my regular script offerings, I love it so much! I will call it "Durham," after the bride's maiden name.

Custom birthday invitations

Earlier this month, I had a request from a mom near Charlottesville for custom calligraphy birthday invitations for her little boy's 2nd birthday, which takes place on Pi Day (3.14.15). It was so fun to make this mom's vision come to life!
