Baby shower calligraphy

A dear friend had her baby 6 weeks before I had my little girl, and I threw her a shower in December, ahead of her babe's arrival (another girl!). Here's a little keepsake I created for her.

Decorations for my nursery

I loved taking a break from paid gigs when I was super-pregnant with my first child, because I could create some awesome hand-lettered custom artwork for my daughter's nursery! Here's one piece. I love this Rumi quote and hope it will someday speak to my daughter the way it speaks to me.

Custom calligraphy for wedding map

Another shot from the wedding I worked on last fall where the couple asked me to create calligraphy to accompany their welcome packet, including this map of activities around Charlottesville. They ended up getting the map enlarged and framed, to hang in their new home!

A coworker asked me to create a custom calligraphy piece for her of the poem "Beatitudes." I love the final result.

A sweet student of mine contacted me about inscribing a dedication that John Steinbeck wrote for "East of Eden" and I happily obliged (English major/nerd that I am). This passage has special meaning to her and she was very happy with the results... as was I!
